Pick your Grinder and customize it with a powerful arsenal of lasers, missiles, cannons and more before launching out to defend your company's territory. Now, it's up to you and the rest of the Horizon Security team to protect your fellow co-workers, defend your company's resources, and uncover the secrets of the Serus system.

However, your daily grind is interrupted when a mysterious hostile force begins to encroach on your company's mining operations. I can't say how many times i've been drilling a dredge or a goldrush just to have the thing backup slightly and then I slip off right in front of it.Welcome to the Serus System! As a member of Horizon Corporate's Security unit, it's your job to keep the peace by piloting massive mining machines. make the downwards drill a more or less guaranteed kill if it lands. Make the drill forward facing which would encourage the drill to sneak up behind enemies who are out of fuel orī. Now I am not a game designer and the devs have proved to know what they're doing so I'll trust however they decide to handle the class.Ī. it seems to be a natural counter for dredges and goldrushes (after they charge and are out of fuel) but you'd have to sit on their head for like 10 seconds which is just too long to stand on another mechs head for. It's just a shame that the drill has to be a last resort weapon rather than a calculated risk that is worth the effort. I can do well with the class overall if I sit at a distance and let nothing near me. Unfortunately the key to that success (which I've confirmed with her) is to mostly actively ignore the drill unless you absolutely have to use it-because of the reasons described above. I know it is possible as there is one person in particular who scores over a dozen kills every time with the class. I've been really trying to get good with this class. I believe I've played with you a number of times! While I currently lack the patience to become proficient with the drill, I certainly applaud those who put in the time to do so. That said, I think it helps bring a larger awareness for pilots of team communications / aspects, balance which adds depth and maybe some strategy to the game. Small target at distance and that freaking rail gun. Not the easiest task for the more ground-based grinders. Once you've decided it needs to go, then comes the challenge of making it happen. I think it's enough of an annoyance for most that it cannot be ignored. Floating above the battlefield pegging you from distance with the rail gun get old fast. Originally posted by Tynie:While I share the frustrations of Night and others, and it's not a grinder that matches my play style, I will say in its current configuration, and in the right hands, it's a PITA to go up against. If someone else has any opinions about this i'd be glad to hear them as well :). Overall it makes the drill quite underwhelming and unsatisfying to use. As it stands it is almost impossible to aim and when you DO successfully land on top of an enemy the damage you do before slipping off is generally not enough to actually kill said unit.

If you're going to have a class that is a piece of glass with only one other weapons besides a drill, that drill had better be something satisfying and fun to use. While a certain amount can be said of the idea that it is a skill required class there should be at the very least some sort of indicator when the enemy mech is directly below you. which, because the mech doesn't seem to attach to the enemy while drilling, is pretty much guaranteed to happen if they some much as thrust backwards or walk in any direction.Ģ. If the enemy is not dead by the time your drill mech slips off of them you may as well just eject immediately.

Honestly it should pretty much be guaranteed that if i manage to maneuver my mech with almost no HP on top of another mech I should score that kill, especially considering I have to basically suicide/risk everything to do so. Even if I land on an enemy unit only about 25% of the time do I actually get a kill before I myself am destroyed. The game is truly a gem but this class is just not fun to play for a couple reasons:ġ.

Trying to get good with this class is proving to be a great exercise in frustration. I'm having fun with this game and every class besides this one TBH.
